Keep an open mind – but not so open that your brain falls out (Richard Feynman)

Good morning,

Richard Feyman was an outstanding theoretical physicist, well known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics and several other related fields.

Being a bright person, many of his remarks, like this one today, carry a swift irony. Even the brightest brains know how to laugh at life.

In these days with everything changing and not knowing what is going to happen even tomorrow and what situation we could live in next week or during Christmas or two years ahead, to have an open mind is critical.

Shall I keep my job? Shall I still be working in the same sector?

Will the economy recover in a few months, or years, or a decade?

What will happen with the micro businesses? And the big companies, will they still demand workforce?

My good friend Joe, half English half Spanish, whose family was from Gaucín, a beautiful two down in Malaga, close to Ronda, is another almost brilliant mind. And he is projecting that widening oneself to other professional or business paths is nowadays absolutely essential, even it is towards an unknown direction.

It is true that many people will feel somehow confused with their jobs or business realities about to go down the drain and an increasing anxiety after what we hear regarding COVID-19 and its impact in the economy, employment and free movement.

But is it precisely now when one must find the balance in order to explore new employment or business adventures.

Some of them will not have an exit but others will drive us to a much more promising future.

We must be open to new options, such as relocating to other cities, towns, countries. It could be just the right time to do it.

«Adjustment and rebellion» says my friend Claudia. Adjustment to the new situation we are suffering because losing one’s control does not get us anywhere but chaos.

And then, rebellion. Being noncomformist, fighting for positive evolution, for creativity, for new ways and forms of development for our societies. I am not talking of breaking our current laws and regulations, but peacefully challenging them towards improving them.

And rebellion has no age limitations, by the way.
