“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others” is another sentence from Jonathan Swift, whom I have mentioned some days ago. well known in Spain for his book «The travels of Gulliver». Out there he is very much appreciated for his satires and this sentence is widely used in the UK and US in the motivational courses at several corporations; I know it because I have gone through them throughout my life. It is an interesting phrase because from it the term «visionary» is extracted, meaning the person, like Swift, that is capable of seeing what other are not perceiving and can also reveal it to them. Today, a visionary is a person that transforms reality creating a positive change from what he is seeing, from the field of philosophy, science, medicine or charity. Let us become visionaries. Let us use the power to transfrom reality. Lets start cultivating our discipline, educating and training ourselves on what we like and practicing it with passion and enthusiasm. We shall discorver a much bigger world as we advance. And very grateful. And then the vision will come. Good day and good trading.
We started the session with no references from China due to their bank holiday. Tokio and Sidney closed in red, with Japan being forced down by the strength of the yen and the not so good data on machinery orders, dropping 11% versus a 5,5% surge in the previous month.
And then Draghi spoke and the whole European world trembled. He did not say anything dramatic, but his comment about the need to have a European unified bond instead of country ones, opened the box and all markets started to collapse, particularly the EURUSD but also the DAX and other European indices.
Since then, the stock markets are slightly recovering but the EURUSD has continued its downtrend, quoting now at 1,1340 (coming from 1.1405 earlier this morning). Oil (Brent) is correcting its price and it is now at 51,99 and gold remains at 1259,30.
